COOL STYLING
HEATSINK AND MECHANICAL DESIGN
A client approached me needing to create a new “flagship” product for their line of horticultural and greenhouse lighting systems. One client quickly became two after the first round of concept generation and heat sink testing because an associate of his, in the same industry, was facing the same challenge with an identical project scope. Here I will showcase both projects and explain my role and influence. Both companies used the same electronic engineering team and manufacturer. This made my effort to help push two products, in tandem, to market a pleasure. Working with the electronic and manufacturing team in Thailand has cultivated a fruitful and respectful working relationship that has me excited to reach out to them when my projects lead me toward their direction.
THE KIND X2
I flew out to Santa Rosa, California to meet with Kind LED. Along with me, Gregory R., a world-renowned electronics engineer. After a quick meeting in the morning, the vision of a product involving concentric squares was conveyed. We agreed to have an early dinner meeting that same day so that I could show them the concept in 3d. I spent the next 6 hours in my hotel room building the concept that later that evening would create the handshake over the dinner table that would start a yearlong project that would create what is currently being sold today by Kind LED as the X2.
